Sponsor Nila
We are so proud to nominate Nila, one of our most dedicated and long-standing students, for a Sovannaphumi School scholarship this academic year.
Nila began her journey with us in Pre-K and has grown with Sala Monkey Language and Arts School for the past four years—first with Teacher Tracy, then Teacher Chean and now with Teacher Pin, and all of her teachers agree: she is more than ready for this next step.
Though she is soft-spoken, Nila is incredibly bright, with strong abilities in both English and Khmer. Many of our volunteer ballet teachers may remember her—she studies both Khmer classical dance and ballet, showing quiet dedication and grace in every class.
Her mother is a seamstress and her father a policeman. While a private education is beyond their means, her mother has sewn all of our Khmer dance costumes completely free of charge as a heartfelt thank-you for the education Nila has received.
Our scholarship program has already changed lives. In just one year, we've successfully placed seven Sala Monkey students into Sovannaphumi Private School. Our goal is to reach 10 or 11 scholarship students by the end of this year—and we truly hope Nila will be one of them.
This is not just a chance for Nila and her family. It’s an opportunity for our entire community here in Kep Province. When one child is empowered with education, the ripple effect is real—uplifting families, inspiring peers, and helping build a more hopeful future for all.
We believe in Nila. Her teachers believe in her. And we hope you will too!
