Educators are innovators.
The new Sala Monkey Primary School was built in 2014.
Situated between rice fields and farm land, we are a modern school facility providing 21st Century education based in large part on Singapore’s National Primary Curriculum and a strong emphasis on project based learning.
We started out in a tiny dilapidated schoolhouse teaching 35 students from the local village, but I had a dream that we could build a big modern school that was fit for educating hundreds of children. Providing a private school quality education completely tuition-free.
The majority of our students come from underprivileged families who continue to struggle with generational poverty.
Much of our work has been to prevent children from being sent to work and to have them continue their public school education in Khmer and to enroll here at Sala Monkey.
Keeping kids in school and giving them the opportunity to be changemakers for their local community and their country.
